Leveraging Ergonomic Design to Transition from Software to Hardware

Switching from software to building physical tech products is a significant transition for any tech team. It requires mastering new skills and processes, from manufacturing to marketing.  

In a recent Forbes Technology Council article, technology leaders share their expertise in transitioning from software development to hardware production. Their insights span from ensuring the viability of products to effectively promoting their positive impact in the market. Amongst the panel of leaders, Patrick Emmons, CEO at DragonSpears, explains the importance of paying particular attention to ergonomic design.   

Emmons details that when “transitioning to physical tech products, tech leaders should prioritize understanding the user experience in a tangible context. Unlike software, physical products involve direct interaction, making an ergonomic design and user interface crucial. This focus is vital, as it greatly influences customer satisfaction and product usability.”
